Chief Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to lead our data engineering team and develop a robust, scalable, and secure data ecosystem.

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale data architectures using cutting-edge technologies such as cloud platforms, big data frameworks, and real-time data streaming.

This role demands deep technical expertise in data modeling, databases, integration frameworks, and mentorship skills to partner with stakeholders and guide engineers.

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines for structured and unstructured data, including ETL/ELT frameworks and data security protocols.
  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Optimize database performance, implement partitioning, indexing, and query tuning strategies, and deploy data solutions using cloud-native tools.
  • Implement data security frameworks, introduce metadata management, and stay current with emerging technologies.

Leadership & Strategic:

  • Serve as the data architecture authority, define standards and best practices, and lead and mentor Data Engineers and Analysts.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to translate requirements into data-driven solutions and drive adoption of data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Evaluate vendor tools and make recommendations for long-term scalability and growth.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in SQL, Python, or Scala programming languages.
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, data security protocols, and cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with big data frameworks, real-time data streaming, and data security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture roles.
  • Relevant certifications preferred.
