Job Title

A senior security specialist is required to oversee the Global Security Operations Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the centre, including monitoring global events, analysing risks and threats, and responding to physical security incidents affecting company assets and employees.

The role involves working independently with confidence and making rapid decisions in high-pressure situations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and Analysis: 24/7 monitoring of significant global events via a selection of closed and open-source information feeds.
  • Risk Management: Serving as the hub for monitoring, analysing and interpretation of risks and threats that may affect the company.
  • Incident Response: Responding to and investigating alerts raised on various security systems.
  • Travel Support: Supporting in the completion of International travel threat analysis for company employees travelling abroad.
  • Issue Detection: Early detection of potential issues and assist in identifying new technologies and upgrades for existing systems.
  • Procedure Enforcement: Ensuring procedures and protocols are followed that enable the timely and effective response to incidents.
  • Central Monitoring Station: Management of, incidents, alarms, notifications, calls and other activities related to the GSOC and its role as a central monitoring station.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a Security Operations Centre, Security Communications Centre, Security/Alarm monitoring centre or other closely related operation.
  • Customer Service: A proven record of accomplishment in customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Prioritization: Can prioritise workload based on urgency and communicate to a range of audiences including to executive management.
  • Compliance and Notification: Have demonstrated ability to ensure compliance, monitoring of assets, and making rapid notifications via mass communication tools.
  • Independence and Decision-Making: Be able to work independently and be confident in decision-making within defined processes, and during sudden, unanticipated, or unprecedented events or crises.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate and deploy a sound understanding and application of technology and use a variety of technical platforms and systems in a conjoined way to deliver quick and accurate results.

Desirable Skills

  • Linguistic Skills: Non-English language skills are desirable but not essential for the role.
  • Social Media and Intelligence: Familiarity with social media platforms, social media intelligence and open-source intelligence tools and techniques would be highly beneficial.
  • Presentational Skills: Confident and articulate presenter able to concisely deliver key messages.
