Job Summary:
  As a Human Resources Generalist at Marriott, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR Office. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the recruitment and hiring process, administering and educating employee benefits, and maintaining effective employee communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the recruitment and hiring process, including interviewing and hiring HR team members
  • Establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources, attend job fairs, and network with local organizations to source candidates
  • Assist in monitoring the candidate identification and selection process, perform quality control on candidate identification and selection
  • Work with the unemployment services provider to respond to unemployment claims, review provider reports for accuracy, and correct errors
  • Assist with unemployment claim activity reports, attend unemployment hearings, and ensure proper representation as needed
  • Assist with departmental orientation program, ensure employees are cross-trained to support successful daily operations, and coordinate new hire orientation program
  • Ensure attendance by all new hires and participation of the leadership team in training programs
  • Maintain effective employee communication channels, develop daily communications, and assist with regularly scheduled property-wide meetings
  • Review progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency, and check for supportive documentation and determine appropriate action
  • Utilize an open door policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in a timely manner, and ensure employee issues are referred to the Department Manager for resolution or escalated to the Director of Human Resources Multi-Property Director of Human Resources
  • Partner with Loss Prevention to conduct employee accident investigations as necessary, communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position
  • Assist with ensuring employee files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time, and ensure compliance with procedure for accessing reviewing and auditing employee files and the Privacy Act
  • Facilitate random reasonable belief and post-accident drug testing process in properties where applicable, communicate property rules and regulations via the employee handbook, and assist with ensuring all safety and security policies are communicated to employees on a regular basis through orientation property meetings bulletin boards etc.
