Job Description:

Our organization is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side services and APIs using Go and Python.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Go and Python, as well as a strong understanding of concurrency patterns, error handling, and idiomatic coding practices. They will also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

As a key member of our engineering team, the Backend Engineer will work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and other engineers to deliver production-grade code that supports a scalable monolith/modular monolith architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Go (Golang): Multiple shipped services or components; solid understanding of goroutines, channels, concurrency patterns, error handling, and idiomatic Go.
  • Python: Production experience building backend services, scripts, or data pipelines; comfortable with async patterns where relevant.
  • APIs & Services: Designed and delivered RESTful and/or gRPC APIs; experience in versioning, pagination, auth, and error handling.
  • Databases: Strong SQL skills and familiarity with schema design, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
  • Testing & CI/CD: Unit/integration testing, automated pipelines, and release discipline.
  • Debugging & Observability: Experience with logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and responding to incidents.
