Database Engineer

The primary goal is to provide secure database tier with high performance, ensuring both backend data and frontend application accessibility for end-users.

  • Design, develop, install, tune, deploy, secure, migrate and upgrade DBMS installations in Cloud and On-Prem platforms.
  • Monitor database performance, identify and resolve database issues. Provide timely guidance and support to Developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning.
  • Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setup, replication, database encryption, index, and filegroup management to ensure data integrity.

Responsibilities also include:

  1. Monitoring database system for performance and capacity constraints.
  2. Liaising with Managers, Developers, Operations, System, and Database administrators to align on priorities.

For the position of Senior Database Administrator we are looking for professionals with a solid foundation in database concepts – ACID properties, normal forms, DDL/DML, transaction logging, log shipping, Mirroring, etc.

  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling.
  • Experience in developing migration plans to migrate on-premises databases to Cloud (AWS/Azure).
  • Proficient knowledge in working, maintaining database technologies (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related information technology field with 6-8 years of experience in database administration or development.

Key qualifications include relevant certifications on cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, knowledge of Windows Server, Linux systems, and Cloud environments. Experience in ITIL-based environments is beneficial.
