Job Overview

As a data engineer, you will play a vital role in helping organisations harness the power of data to drive digital transformation and enhance operational efficiency.

The company has over 100 years of experience in operational technology (OT) and more than 60 years in IT to unlock the power of data from businesses, people, and machines.

They help enterprises store, enrich, activate, and monetise their data to improve customer experiences, develop new revenue streams, and lower business costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks (PySpark/Scala).
  • Design and deploy event-driven data processing and automation solutions with Azure Function Apps.
  • Integrate Databricks with other Azure services like Data Lake Storage, Synapse, Event Hubs, Key Vault, etc.
  • Optimise Spark jobs for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps for Databricks notebooks and Function Apps.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in Azure Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala).
  • Proficiency in developing Azure Function Apps using C#, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of Azure Data Lake, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, and Key Vault.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform).
  • Familiarity with data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MICROSOFT CERTIFIED: AZURE DATA ENGINEER ASSOCIATE OR SIMILAR CERTIFICATIONS.
  • EXPERIENCE WITH DELTA LAKE, MLFLOW, OR UNITY CATALOG.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF MONITORING TOOLS LIKE AZURE MONITOR, LOG ANALYTICS, AND APPLICATION INSIGHTS.
