Job Summary

As a Retail Credit Manager, you will play a crucial role in underwriting mortgage business and managing the portfolio in assigned branches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Assessment: Review and assess complex loan applications within defined guidelines, making decisions or recommending approvals to higher authorities.
  • Portfolio Management: Underwrite proposals according to laid-down policies and procedures, honouring agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and managing city/area business volumes.
  • Credit Evaluation: Conduct personal discussions with customers to establish credit worthiness and ensure completion of credit/KYC documents and verification through telephonic, field, and collateral visits.
  • Risk Analysis: Assess income to obligation ratios, loan to value ratios, and in-depth knowledge of rational behind calculations and its impact on loan performance over long tenures.
  • MIS Reporting: Maintain Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other operations-related MIS of the cluster, regularly reporting the same.
  • Client Relationships: Build and facilitate best outcomes for clients by building and leveraging effective relationships with third parties.
  • Problem-Solving: Take ownership of client queries and use industry knowledge and experience to overcome challenges and solve problems.
  • Quality Standards: Exceed service quality standards and strive for continuous process improvement.
  • Critical Review: Undertake critical review of credit proposals to bring out industry, business, financial, management, and facility structure risks contained in the proposal.
  • Risk Mitigation: Ensure collateral and other credit risk mitigation to facilitate approving authority to take decision on the credit proposal.
  • Quick Turnaround: Enable quick turnaround time of credit lending proposals for mortgage business comprising loan against property and home loan business in close liaison with sales team.
  • Ongoing Review: Undertake ongoing review of credit exposures to ensure that the exposure continues to be bankable.
  • Documentation: Facilitate critical review and documentation of proposals and effectively monitor client & collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phase & undertake steps for risk mitigation whenever required while ensuring adherence to legal & documentation norms & policies.
  • Branch Management: Manage the credit underwriting function of his/her branch and facilitate quick turnaround of credit lending proposals for the branch in close liaison with local credit analysts and sales team.
  • Recovery: Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between Mortgage Origination Vehicle (MOV).
