Job Title

Job Summary:

Data architects design and develop the infrastructure for storing and processing large amounts of data. They are responsible for ensuring that data is secure, scalable, and meets business requirements.

In this key role, you will be a hands-on architect, building secure and scalable data platforms while mentoring our engineering teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing robust, scalable, and secure data architectures
  • Leading the implementation of data solutions on various cloud platforms
  • Defining and enforcing data governance, quality, and security standards
  • Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Evaluating new technologies and tools to improve our data infrastructure and practices
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of data architecture, data flows, and processes
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data architecture and cloud computing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Overall 8-12 years of experience with 3+ years of experience in data architecture or a similar role
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing data solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native data services such as AWS Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, and EMR; Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Data Factory, and Databricks; GCP BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Dataproc
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and data warehousing concepts
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications:

  • A strong foundation in software development principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, and C++
  • Familiarity with Agile project management frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
