Procurement Strategist

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Strategist to lead our procurement efforts, ensuring seamless supply of raw materials and equipment for our mining operations. The ideal candidate will develop and execute procurement strategies tailored to the minerals and mining industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing procurement strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts for equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Maintaining vendor relationships with local and international suppliers.
  • Monitoring market trends and commodity prices to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensuring inventory planning aligns with operations and warehouse teams' requirements.
  • Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensuring all purchases comply with statutory requirements, safety norms, and environmental regulations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 4-5 years in the minerals/mining sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mining equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management, and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
