Job Title: Senior Cost Estimator

 

Job Description:

A key role in a leading construction team, the Senior Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive capital cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed capital cost estimates, considering all aspects of a project.
  • Advise on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Draft contract packages, including advice on amendments to standard forms, to safeguard client interests.
  • Develop pricing documents for tender packages, ensuring transparency and competitiveness.
  • Provide expert guidance on tendering procedures, helping clients make informed decisions.
  • Draft instructions to tenderers, ensuring clarity and specificity.
  • Develop tender evaluation criteria, assessing bids based on merit and value.
  • Draft PQQ questionnaires, gathering essential information from potential contractors.
  • Evaluate commercial tenders, negotiate with bidders, and determine fair prices.
  • Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variations and determine claim amounts.
  • Compile and submit monthly Cost Reports, providing stakeholders with up-to-date financial insights.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field (Chartered QS under a recognized organization an asset).
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management, with a strong understanding of QS & cost management processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and IT literacy, with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, and a talent for coordinating with global teams.
  • An organized self-starter with attention to detail, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
