Web Application Security Specialist

This is a challenging role that involves managing and maintaining the security of web applications. As a specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal security and minimizing false positives.

  • You will manage Cloudflare WAF rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to protect against OWASP Top 10 threats.
  • Tune policies to enable real-time visibility into web traffic anomalies and monitor web traffic and bot activity.
  • Take preventive actions to prevent attacks and integrate WAF alerts with central SIEM/SOC for enhanced collaboration with app teams.
  • Collaborate with development teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout and troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies.
  • Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to ensure secure and compliant web applications.
  • Generate reports for application owners and participate in threat modeling exercises to stay ahead of emerging threats.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF).

Additionally, they should have an understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS, as well as familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards.
