Music Educator
About the Role:We are seeking a skilled Music Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing music lessons that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver music lessons that cater to diverse learners.
- Utilise assistive technologies, visual aids, instruments, and alternative communication methods to support student participation.
- Promote music as a means of self-expression, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to integrate therapeutic goals into musical activities.
- Assess student progress using tailored benchmarks; maintain accurate records and contribute to IEPs.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment; manage behaviour sensitively in line with the school's positive behaviour support policies.
- Organise performances, music therapy sessions, and school-wide musical events to showcase students' abilities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Education or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience working with children in a mainstream or special school setting.
- Teaching qualification or experience in special education (preferred).
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive music education.
- Ability to play an instrument and facilitate group music singing.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
