Tecnico responsible for the design of main electrical equipment and materials in high-voltage systems. The role involves preparing and reviewing technical specifications, data sheets, control and protection schematics, and single line drawings.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 15 years of relevant experience in POWER PLANT projects, mainly in HV Substations (AIS/GIS), above 100 kV. Experience in FEED and Detail Engineering is also required.

The ideal candidate should be able to review and develop technical specifications, data sheets, RFQ/RFPs and technical bid evaluation of electrical equipment and materials. Strong skills in single line drawings, schematics and control & protection systems are necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing main electrical equipment and materials
  • Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and data sheets
  • Preparing electrical equipment and material sizing calculations
  • Preparing control and protection schematics and SLDs
  • Requisitioning for inquiry and purchase of HV electrical equipment
  • Reviewing generation/grid interconnections
  • Power system studies
  • Technical bid evaluation of offers for HV electrical equipment
  • Interacting and collaborating with rest of technical disciplines involved

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • 15 years or more experience working in the electrical discipline in a engineering company
  • Experience designing for HV electrical equipment and materials
  • Power system studies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of other disciplines
  • Able to complete tasks in accordance with project requirements
  • Able to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel
