Portfolio Research Analyst Job Description

This role is responsible for analyzing client portfolios, supporting portfolio managers with actionable insights, and ensuring alignment with client objectives and risk-return parameters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of portfolio rebalancing techniques and asset allocation models, as well as in-depth knowledge of Mutual Funds, Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), and Portfolio Management Services (PMS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis and rebalancing of client portfolios to optimize asset allocation and manage risk-adjusted returns.
  • Perform comprehensive research and due diligence on MFs, AIFs, and PMS products to support informed investment recommendations.
  • Monitor and track performance of client portfolios against benchmarks and market trends, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to design customized investment strategies that meet client needs and goals.
  • Prepare high-quality investment research reports, presentations, and client notes that provide clear and actionable insights.
  • Support the creation of model portfolios and recommend rebalancing strategies based on market movements, ensuring timely and effective portfolio adjustments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with regulatory frameworks, including SEBI guidelines and investment policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is essential.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, CFP, or NISM are preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in portfolio research, wealth management, or investment advisory is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability is vital.
  • A client-first mindset with attention to detail is necessary.
