Product Manager Job Description

The role of a Product Manager is crucial in driving the growth and success of a company. This position requires an individual who can effectively manage products from conceptualization to launch, ensuring they meet customer needs and exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and Sourcing Products: Identify opportunities for new product development and work closely with designers, merchandisers, and vendors to create high-quality products that meet customer requirements.
  • Pricing Strategies: Collaborate with the marketing department to determine optimal pricing strategies for various product lines, ensuring maximum profitability.
  • Inventory Management: Work with the merchandising team to manage stock levels, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns, ensuring efficient inventory turnover.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, informing future product development.
  • Negotiations: Support negotiations with suppliers to secure best costs and margins, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining product quality.
  • Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with marketing and design teams to develop visually appealing displays and promotional plans that drive sales and brand awareness.
  • Sample Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Set standards for merchandise quality with QA and reconcile store plans to fix departmental financial plans.
  • Supplier Performance Review: Conduct annual reviews of supplier performance with QA, ensuring ongoing improvement and optimization.
