**Job Title:** Linux System Engineer

**Job Purpose:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This includes performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform daily system monitoring and maintenance tasks.
  • Configure and manage server resources, including CPU, memory, and storage.
  • Implement security measures to prevent intrusions and ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in administration of backup operations and maintain floating license servers.
  • Apply OS and firmware patches and upgrades as needed.
  • Upgrade and configure infrastructure systems and software.
  • Maintain server room and colocation facility environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

**Requirements:**

  • 2-3 years of experience in Linux administration (Centos, RHEL, Ubuntu, Suse).
  • Strong working knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon View.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 OS, including installation and configuration.
  • Windows Server OS and Active Directory.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux, including command line.
  • An understanding of servers, networking, storage, and render systems for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Beginner to intermediate level with automated rendering systems (Qube, Deadline, Rush, Muster, Smedge, etc).

**Desirable Requirements:**

  • Python coding.
  • Shell scripting.
  • LAN/WAN networking.
  • Experience of troubleshooting creative programs such as Maya, Houdini, Photoshop, Nuke, Fusion.
  • Experience working in an Animation / VFX production studio an asset.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
  • Redhat Certified System Engineer (RHCE) is a must.
  • Other certifications like MCSE, CCNA, etc. is a plus.
  • Hands on experience of managing 200+ workstation is a plus.
