Chief Risk Officer

This role plays a crucial part in assessing and mitigating risks associated with operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Audit Planning and Reporting: Develop annual audit plans based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present audit findings, reports, and recommendations to senior management and audit committees.
  • Internal Audits: Plan and execute internal audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures. Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to address identified issues.
  • Risk Monitoring: Monitor regulatory compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines related to risk management and audit activities.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate and identify potential risks within various operational areas. Develop risk assessment frameworks and methodologies to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Provide recommendations for improving risk management practices and enhancing internal controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to risk management and auditing. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of audit methodologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, including minimum 2-3 years of audit-related experience in the mutual fund industry.
  • A professional certification or post-graduation like MBA is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques, audit principles, and regulatory requirements applicable to mutual funds.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders, present audit findings, and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies.
