Job Opportunity: Lead Tax Strategist

We are seeking an experienced tax professional to lead our direct tax efforts. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic tax plans to optimize our company's tax position.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Lead Tax Strategist - Direct Tax. In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping our tax strategy and compliance efforts. You will work closely with leadership and business units to ensure efficient tax planning and adherence to all applicable direct tax laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement direct tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and risks
  • Research, interpret, and apply relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance
  • Prepare and review direct tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
  • Manage tax audits and coordinate responses and documentation for tax authorities
  • Provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions and transactions
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in direct tax laws and assess their impact on the business
  • Mentor junior finance professionals and provide training on direct tax matters
  • Ensure robust documentation and compliance with reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of direct tax laws and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and handling tax audits
  • Strong research and analytical skills to interpret complex tax legislation
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
