Live Streaming and Video Platform Engineer

As a Live Streaming and Video Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end integration and optimization of ZEGOCLOUD features in our Flutter app across Android and iOS.

The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of ZegoExpressEngine concepts: rooms, streams, tokens, signaling. You will work on implementing beauty filters, PK battles, audio rooms, stickers, and virtual gifting in production.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement live streaming architecture to handle multi-guest, invite/signaling, and co-hosting.
  • Develop and integrate real-time communication features such as 1:1 & group video/voice calls, audio rooms, spatial audio.
  • Implement robust reconnect and state sync for room chat, reactions, gifts, and gift-led events.
  • Work on moderation tools including mute/kick/ban, content safeguards, report flows, and admin dashboards hooks.
  • Ensure performance by tuning fps/bitrate, thermal, and energy optimization on iOS, crash-free stability, and platform plumbing such as push notifications, deep links/universal links, background modes.
  • Requirements:
  • At least 3 shipped Flutter apps with substantial ZEGOCLOUD UI Kit/SDK integration.
  • Strong grasp of ZegoExpressEngine concepts: rooms, streams, tokens, signaling.
  • Proven performance tuning: bitrate ladders, CPU/GPU tradeoffs, device gating, thermal handling (iOS).
  • Solid iOS & Android platform chops: entitlements, background modes, permissions, ProGuard/obfuscation.
  • CI/CD familiarity for Flutter (fastlane, code signing, Play/App Store basics).
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Parse Server or similar BaaS, Firebase Messaging, Dynamic/Universal Links.
  • Anti-abuse/mod tooling (rate limits, moderation queues).
  • Analytics & A/B testing for engagement features.
