Intellectual Property Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to perform prior-art searches and evaluate third-party patent rights. The ideal candidate will work closely with IP managers and product development teams to explore emerging technologies, identify future IP trends, and ensure the intellectual property strategy is sound.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Prior-Art Search Expertise: Perform thorough prior-art searches for patentability, FTO (Freedom to Operate), and invalidity studies in external and internal patent databases.
  • Patent Mapping and Landscaping: Facilitate patent mapping and patent landscaping in cooperation with IP Managers and other teams to explore emerging technologies and identify future IP trends.
  • Evaluate Third-Party Patent Rights: Evaluate third-party patent rights in close cooperation with relevant teams.
  • IP Search Tool Evaluation: Evaluate new IP search and analysis tools and benchmark their performance against existing tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, life sciences, biology, chemistry, data analytics, or engineering.
  • Expertise: Proven expertise as an IP search specialist for a multinational corporation or commercial IP search service provider.
  • Qualification: A qualification as a patent or IP search specialist would be an asset.
