Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Data Analytics Specialist to join our Finance Analytics team. The primary goal is to develop innovative predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions that add value to the finance function.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting data science initiatives, taking ownership of projects, and delivering high-quality data-driven analytics solutions. They will be adept at solving diverse business problems by utilizing various tools, strategies, algorithms, and programming languages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining production forecast modeling pipelines, including model monitoring and refitting models as needed
  • Working with business partners to understand requirements, design, and build effective solutions for complex business problems
  • Integrating data from multiple sources and building robust, cross-functional data assets to support analytics
  • Assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of the data and data gathering techniques, determining materiality of data issues and challenges, disposition, and recommending a path forward
  • Performing multivariate and exploratory data analysis and communicating key findings to colleagues and business partners
  • Utilizing statistics and machine learning to build predictive models and tools supporting business initiatives
  • Collaborating with the team to perform complex analytics and data preparation tasks, including feature engineering and brainstorming potential data sources
  • Communicating and presenting findings, including visualizations, to business partners to ensure successful integration of projects into business processes
  • Providing training guidance and assistance to colleagues

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, or related educational background

Experience in Python

Familiarity with time series modeling

2+ years of data science-related experience

Excellent data analysis and advanced data manipulation techniques using SQL

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Experience with predictive modeling and working with data scientists is a plus

Data visualization tool experience is a plus

Business experience and knowledge of the P&C industry are a plus. Experience with cloud-based technology is also a plus.
