At the heart of our data strategy lies a critical role for an experienced and skilled Database Administrator to ensure seamless performance and security of our databases in a dynamic production support environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PostgreSQL DBA (Level 3): Provide expert-level experience with PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning, along with proven expertise with pgBackRest, Barman, pg_basebackup, and pg_dump.
  • Implement high-availability and replication solutions using Patroni and repmgr, while maintaining robust monitoring and alerts.
  • Monitor and optimize performance, refine queries and indexes, manage vacuuming and bloat, and implement pooling using PgBouncer.
  • Diagnose and recover from cluster corruption using advanced tools and procedures, leveraging backups and replicas to ensure business continuity.
  • Plan and execute major upgrades, cross-version and cross-platform migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Experience with AWS PostgreSQL services like RDS and Aurora is highly desirable, including parameter groups, snapshot management, performance insights, and multi-AZ failover.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • MySQL DBA: Perform backup and restore operations, manage users, roles, and permissions, and setup and troubleshoot replication.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good communication skills. Experience with logical replication, foreign data wrappers, connection pooling, and proxy tools is a plus.
