Supply Chain Manager Job Description

This position is a senior role in supply chain management, responsible for leading and managing the South Hub team to achieve operational excellence in material procurement, planning, and inventory management. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, automobile industry experience, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Procurement and Planning: Oversee the procurement and planning of materials for casting, forging, electrical, electronic components, and parts used in vehicles and aggregates.
  • Utilization of IT Tools: Leverage IT systems such as LTP, MRP, and Asterisk for efficient planning and material management.
  • Supplier Capacity Planning: Monitor supplier capacity to meet material requirements and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ensure parts and inventory norms are maintained.
  • Plant-Level SCM Support: Coordinate with Plant SCM, PPC, SSU, and Accounts.
  • Change Management: Implement and manage changes in engineering processes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with operational needs.
  • Cost Optimization: Focus on cost-saving initiatives across packaging, materials, and logistics to reduce overall costs.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the South Hub team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Automobile, Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical or Automobile, Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical or Automobile.
  • At least 15 years of work experience in Supply Chain Buying, Procurement, Capacity Planning.
  • Should have led Plant SCM team.
  • Strong system knowledge of Store Management, Dispatching, Storage management, Transportation Planning, Material Management, First-In First-Out (FIFO), Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
