Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to serve as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure SQL and cloud database services, ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of both on-premise and cloud-based SQL Server environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, maintain, and support SQL Server 2016–2022 and Azure SQL Database environments.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies using AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Azure-native solutions.
  • Plan and execute SQL Server migrations to Azure, including assessments, testing, and validation.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and Azure Monitor.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, including role-based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance with data governance standards.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure Automation.
  • Manage backup strategies using native tools and third-party solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Application, and Infrastructure teams to deliver efficient database solutions.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud database services and Azure-native solutions.
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ability to design and implement secure database architectures.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure Automation.
