Database Administrator Position

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team.

Job Description:

  • Database Performance Optimization: We are looking for an expert who can manage locking, process blocking and performance tuning of our databases.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: The ideal candidate will create and maintain a high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture.
  • Backup and Restoration: We require someone to manage, optimize, test and verify the backup and restoration processes.
  • Monitoring and Metrics: You will create and maintain monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards to give both high-level and granular insight into database performance and operation.
  • Infrastructure Management: The successful candidate will manage our infrastructure in a preventative manner, considering and avoiding potential future issues, mitigating damage from future incidents.
  • Support Tickets: You will handle support tickets when necessary, backing up your peers.
  • Database Development: Develops and deploys new database objects and changes to existing database objects including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
  • Complex Functions and Reports: Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development and designs, develops and maintains a multitude of complex relational database reports using SSRS.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relational Database Architecture: Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL.
  • DBMS Tools: Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, support tooling.
  • T-SQL Skills: Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions.
  • Optimization and HA/DR: Advanced knowledge of how to optimize MSSQL, support HA/DR, etc.
  • System Development Lifecycle: Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design.
  • Cloud Database Storage: Experience with cloud database storage technologies.
  • Problem Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze, troubleshoot and break-down complex problems.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Clearly communicate ideas, thoughts and suggestions to manager and peers, participate, review and offer constructive criticism to peers' changes and code.
