Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in managing and supporting MS SQL Database.

  • Monitor generated log files indicating errors that result in incidents.
  • Ensure database availability monitoring.
  • Track database log replication.
  • Provide regular status reports on log replications as per agreed schedules.
  • Monitor session/query/log/latch activity.
  • Identify potential DB failures and logged system events.
  • Purge database logs and trace files.
  • Conduct periodic config reviews to maintain consistent configurations.
  • Recommend improvements to maintain availability.
  • Generate monthly reports on database availability.
  • Address imminent failures promptly.
  • Reconfigure log shipping.
  • Configure transaction replication.
  • Set up link servers.
  • Maintain failover clustering.
  • Implement Always ON.
  • Respond to database-related incidents and drive corrective action.
  • Tune DB parameters for optimal performance.
  • Correlate related incidents into problem tickets and manage through the problem management process.
  • Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize, and create problem management records.
  • Restore databases as needed.
  • Support the SQL DB L2 team for critical issues.
  • Handle DB performance-related issues.
  • Manage end-to-end major incidents and communicate production issues to customers.
  • Create job schedules for routine maintenance jobs and rebuild indexes.
  • Purge database logs and trace files and perform performance management.
  • Defragment databases and tune performance.
  • Manage all service requests through change management.
  • Automate administrative tasks where possible.
  • Update and manage database environment documentation.
  • Ensure SQL patch compliance and hardening compliance.
  • Maintain DB server availability for business applications.

  • Job scheduling and maintenance planning.
  • Preparing POA and rollback plans for database migrations (essential).
  • Planning and executing new projects related to databases.
  • Troubleshooting DB performance issues.
