Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring engineers, driving the technical direction of our backend, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Job Description

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems
  • Leveraging expertise in Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL, and event-based systems to drive technical innovation
  • Collaborating closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Mentoring and guiding engineers on technical best practices, problem-solving, and career development
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development
  • Proficiency in Ruby is a must, and React is good to have
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, preferably Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
