Job Title: Automotive Specialist

As an Automotive Specialist, you will be responsible for end-to-end diagnostic content creation for all automotive systems.

  • Engine management, electric & hybrid systems, brake control, infotainment, ADAS, transmission, HVAC, and airbags diagnostics are key areas of focus.
  • Analysis of vehicle communication bus logs using various analyzers to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Simulation of automotive systems using simulator solutions and in conjunction with OE testers.
  • Design & creation of workflow or test sequences using IDEs like BDX or Grade-X.
  • Evaluation of OE diagnostic data, derivation of useful insights, and implementing the same in target tester.

On-vehicle validation of implemented diagnostic content and creation of detailed test reports.

Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle system architecture, including sub-systems and components.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicles, making them roadworthy.
  • Ability to understand OEM system description, service & repair manuals.
  • Independence in handling diagnostic testers.
  • Proficiency in handling various OEM testers like VIDA, Xentry, GDS, ADT, SDT-II, DiagBox, HDS, Launch, Autel, G-Scan, Zenith, etc.

Good understanding of wiring diagrams and conventions. Familiarity with CAN, CAN FD, DoIP, UDS, J1939 protocols. Knowledge of BDX-Bosch Data Extension. Experience with analyzer & simulation tools from Vector or Samtec, e.g., HSX, HS+. Proficiency in handling various OEM testers.

Desirable Skills:
  • Programming language skills are a plus.
  • IMSIS+ knowledge is beneficial.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in aftersales vehicle service, diagnostics, and troubleshooting preferably in OEM dealerships/workshops.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostic content development.

Qualifications:

  • BE/ B. Tech/ ME/ M. Tech in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.
