Academic Dean for Product Design

 

At the forefront of our academic department, we are seeking a visionary Dean for Product Design. This esteemed leader will oversee the development and implementation of academic programs in industrial design.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design.
  • 15+ years of experience with at least 5 years in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
  • A strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing academic programs that align with the institution's mission and vision.
  2. Supervising and supporting faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development.
  3. Conducting regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and remains relevant.
  4. Collaborating with other departments to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  5. Overseeing student recruitment efforts and working closely with the Career Advancement Service team.
  6. Planning department resources effectively for discussion and approvals.
  7. Organizing industry expert engagements, such as master classes, conferences, and design festivals.
