As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of network security solutions to deliver high-end products. You will be part of a multi-continent engineering team.

Responsibilities:

Main Tasks:

  • Contribute to the design and development of appliance stacks.
  • Develop understanding of product functionality, use cases, and architecture by interacting with team members, reading and comprehending written code.
  • Study and decipher documentation needed to accomplish tasks, including standards, RFCs, protocol specifications, network topologies, networking fundamentals, Linux platform fundamentals, virtualization, deep packet inspection, and more.
  • Debug issues reported by internal QA teams or in production by customers, suggest solutions, and document design and test plans as part of development activities.
  • Communicate with other team members, including QA teams, and collaborate as required.

Qualifications:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Instrumentation.
  • 3-6 years software development or testing experience in Networking Systems.
  • Ability to write and comprehend written code in C/C++ and/or Python programs.
  • Possession of passion for building a career in embedded systems, networking, and applicable areas of Network Security Systems.
  • Good academic record.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills to read technical literature on Network Security products and make inferences.
  • Ability to operate Linux and Windows Operating System commands and related applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Client Server Programming knowledge.

Desirable Skills:

Nice to Have:

  • Good debugging skills, ability to inspect packet captures.
  • Understanding of Linux boot loaders, grub, kernel compilation, and networking stack internals, TCP/IP knowledge.
  • Knowledge of one or more protocols used in Network Security systems, such as Radius, Diameter, LDAP, DHCP, ARP, DNS.
  • Knowledge of VPN, AAA, ACL, VLAN technologies.
  • Working knowledge of deployment of Virtual Machines like Vmware.
  • Good understanding of Database concepts and good working knowledge with Oracle/PLSQL/Postgres.
  • Excellent analytical and program solving skills, excellent written and oral communication, self-starter, and highly motivated.
