Job Description:

As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and security of our network. This includes monitoring, maintenance, support, and security of the network.

The role requires designing secure greenfield setups and implementing them through to completion. You will also work closely with other IT teams, such as helpdesk, application support, and development teams.

  • Ensure the network is operational, secure, managed, monitored, patched, and refreshed.
  • Design, implement, and maintain new and existing networking infrastructure.
  • Provide middle-to-high level support within the Networking team for technical issues.
  • Maintain and implement secure cloud networking in AWS and Azure.
  • Complete refresh of network hardware, ensuring devices are supported and updated to the latest firmware.
  • Work with staff from other departments and mentor junior engineers.
  • Own network security and CIS best practices in line with ISS Security team.
  • Work within ITIL management structures to comply with standards.
  • Work with Helpdesk ticketing response system.
  • Maintain network inventory and procedures.
  • Assist with complex production network issues.
  • Manage DR network requirements and regular testing.
  • Act as part of the on-call process providing escalation for issues outside core working hours.

  • Radius Technologies (Microsoft and Cisco ISE)
  • Monitoring Platforms (AWS CloudWatch and SolarWinds Preferable)

Essential qualifications include:

  • CCIE
  • Cisco CCNP-Security
  • Degree in a relevant subject

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Cisco CCNP-Wireless
  • AWS CSR

Character and personal qualities required:

  • Uncomplicated, smooth, and efficient service
  • Excellent command of English, written and verbal

Other requirements include:

  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally and work flexibility
  • Able to work from home
  • Able to work aligned to UK hours
  • Willingsness to work unsociable hours and be part of the on-call rotas

QHSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) requirements:

  • Championing appropriate health, safety, security, and environment risk assessments becomes part of the company culture.
  • Accountable for the implementation and monitoring of actions that mitigate risk and enhance controls/processes, to ensure that QHSSE of all Inchcape stakeholders are known and staff/suppliers/crew feel empowered and accountable for their own safety.
  • Ensure full compliance with, and implementation of, the Inchcape QHSSE Management System.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to control QHSSE risk.
  • Accountable for ensuring that clear, appropriate, and timely communication channels are put in place to report and manage QHSSE risk.
