About the Centre:

The Motilal Oswal Centre for Capital Markets is an initiative supported by financial institutions and housed in the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

The Centre aims to foster education, research, training, and innovation in financial markets, fintech, quantitative finance, and investment management.

Job Purpose:

  • The Director will lead strategic initiatives of the Centre.
  • The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with experience in academia, research management, or financial services industry, who is capable of building collaborations and driving impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    1. Formulate and execute the Centre's long-term vision and strategy.
    2. Develop programs aligned with the Centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
  1. Education and Research Program Management:
    1. Provide support for research projects, working papers, and publications in financial markets and related areas.
    2. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
    3. Provide required support for organizing training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  1. Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
    1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other organizations.
    2. Organize seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
  1. Operational Oversight:
    1. Manage day-to-day administration of the Centre including resource planning.
    2. Supervise support staff, interns, and research associates.
  1. Communication and Outreach:
    1. Oversee the Centre's visibility (online and offline), including publications and website updates.
    2. Represent the Centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

Desired Profile:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, financial services companies, industry associations, or other relevant organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, fintech, or quantitative finance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
