Job Title:

Molding Production Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production scheduling, monitoring and reporting to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Develop and implement productivity improvement strategies to drive business growth.
  • Prepare process parameters and other process documents to ensure compliance with quality systems.
  • Lead manpower allocation and people development initiatives to enhance team performance.
  • Ensure adherence to quality systems (TS and EMS) and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of molding machines to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot molding issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Train and mentor a team to adaptability towards optimum productivity.
  • Optimize or improve the molding cycle time to meet customer demands.
  • Analysis of customer complaints, in-process rejections and implementing corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Hands-on experience in running injection molding machines and accessories to achieve high-quality outputs.
  • Capable in new tool trials for plastic parts to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Capable in different types of plastic material processing to expand product offerings.
  • Reconcile RM/WIP stocks at month-end to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment while working to prevent accidents.
  • Inform near-miss incidents and unsafe conditions immediately to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Minimize environmental impact by using controls on the machine/equipment as per daily check sheets.
  • Regularly monitor and measure energy performance to reduce consumption.
  • Prevent pollution, reduce energy consumption, conserve natural resources and maintain a safe working environment in the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in production functions of engineering industries.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate teams.
  • Technical knowledge of molding processes and materials to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • People development and teamwork skills to enhance team performance.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to drive business growth.
  • Knowledge of APQP-related documentation and PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan to ensure compliance with quality systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP to manage production data efficiently.
  • Knowledge of DOE for molding processes to optimize outputs.
  • Knowledge of molding machine specifications and selection for required products.
