Job Summary:

The Workface Planner Piping will be responsible for preparing Installation Work Packages (IWPs), Material Take-offs (MTO), and Test Work Packages (TWPs) for specific disciplines, as well as supporting office construction activities, such as constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, and providing construction's input to engineering and procurement teams to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC) on the projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and Test Work Packages (TWPs) for Piping installations, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  • Review general installation priorities and ensure work accomplished meets project requirements.
  • Prepare scope of IWPs/TWPs in coordination with Piping Field Engineer to gain approval.
  • Perform random checking of IWPs/TWPs assembled by other Workface Planners.
  • Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure, and scoping of installation work packages.
  • Monitor project schedule and ensure performance and timely delivery of IWPs; coordinate with Project Controls team, planners, and other stakeholders to ensure piping IWPs are issued as per project priorities.
  • Monitor quality of IWPs/TWPs, ensuring scoping and preparation are done right the first time.
  • Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management team, and client's organization to ensure IWPs and advance work packaging efforts are effectively delivered on the project.
  • Develop detailed IWPs/TWPs as per project guidelines and procedures, including compiling mechanical and piping installation drawings, Isometrics, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, flange connection datasheets, or any other documents or engineering deliverables associated with IWPs/TWPs.
  • Support development of various other construction engineering deliverables, such as material takeoff of Piping bulk material and vendor-supplied piping components and bulks; upload material take-off quantities and other attributes of Work Packages into the TEAMWorks database or project-specific database.
  • Prepare work packages and method statements for module interconnects, field welds, removal of shipping supports, and other activities involved in installation of modules.
  • Prepare IWP constraints list and assist in resolution and closure of constraints or engineering issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in large EPC projects or 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A recognized diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or international equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working experience at the jobsites as a Field Engineer or Construction Engineer on large industrial projects is essential.
  • Experience in piping and equipment installation.
  • Shall have an experience of preparation of Installation work packages.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, interpreting design, specifications, and industry standards and codes.
  • Shall have a knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.1.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Proficient MS Office applications.
  • An experience of international field assignments is highly preferred.
  • An experience on manufacturing/process plant projects is highly preferred.
