Job Summary

This role will also support office construction activities, including constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, and providing construction's input to engineering and procurement teams to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC) on projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for Piping/Mechanical installations, including detailed IWP release plans (90-Day schedules) with the Responsible Superintendent and Field Engineer.
  • Review general installation priorities to ensure work accomplished meets project requirements.
  • Review work scope, checking sequences, access, resources, equipment needs, pre-work, materials, and support services.
  • Prepare the scope of the IWP in coordination with the Mechanical Field Engineer to gain approval for the IWP.
  • Perform random checking of IWPs assembled by other Workface Planners.
  • Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure, and scoping of installation work packages.
  • Monitor project schedule and ensure performance and timely delivery of IWPs, coordinating with Project Controls teams, planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality of IWPs, ensuring scoping and preparation are done right the first time.
  • Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management teams, and ensure IWPs and advance work packaging efforts are effectively delivered on the project.
  • Develop detailed Piping/Mechanical Installation Work Packages (IWPs) as per project guidelines and procedures, including compiling mechanical and piping installation drawings, Isometrics, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, flange connection datasheets, or any other documents or engineering deliverables associated with IWPs.
  • Support development of various other construction engineering deliverables, such as material takeoff of Piping bulk material and vendor-supplied piping components and bulks, and upload material take-off quantities and other attributes of Work Packages into the TEAMWorks database or project-specific database.
  • Prepare work packages and method statements for module interconnects, field welds, removal of shipping supports, and other activities involved in installation of modules.
  • Prepare IWP constraints lists and assist in resolution and closure of constraints or engineering issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum experience of 10 years for 25 grade and 15 years for 26 grades in large EPC projects, or 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A recognized diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or international equivalent).
  • Working experience at jobsites as a Field Engineer or Construction Engineer on large industrial projects is essential.
  • Experience in piping and equipment installation.
  • Shall have an experience of preparation of Installation work packages.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, interpreting design, specifications, and industry standards and codes.
  • Shall have a knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.1.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Proficient MS Office applications.
  • An experience of international field assignments is highly preferred.
  • An experience on manufacturing/process plant projects is highly preferred.
  • Persons with only scheduling experience should not apply.
  • People posted at jobsites but not directly involved in installation/execution should not apply.
