Job Title: Senior Merchandising Manager

This is a high-level position responsible for overseeing the merchandising function within an organization.

About the Role
  • To develop and manage buyer relationships to secure orders and meet sales targets.
  • Procurement of orders and following through with logistics and quality control.
  • Collaborate with design teams to provide insights on market trends and product development.
  • Maintain a network of contacts and buyers to stay informed about market conditions and opportunities.
  • Regular visits to suppliers and buyers to gather information and negotiate orders.
  • Keep the office updated on industry developments and trends.
  • Analyzing buyer behavior and financial status to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Developing and maintaining a spot costing framework to guide buyer meetings.
  • Coordinating with production, dispatch, and quality control departments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Staying up-to-date with best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role.

Key Interactions: Senior Management/Divisional Heads, Plant/Production Team, Sales/Marketing Team, Commercial Team, Finance/Accounts Team

External Interactions: Buyers/Customer

Requirements

  1. 15+ years of experience in merchandising and marketing.
  2. Order execution from receipt to payment is part of the job role.
  3. A bachelor's degree; a postgraduate degree or diploma in merchandising is advantageous.
