About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Sales Engineer to join our team at Pune Instrumentation Private Limited (PIPL). This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and sales.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 4+ years of experience in new product development. They should possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, and customer service abilities, as well as proven experience in cost estimation and cost analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and estimate costs for engineering projects and products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data and provide accurate estimates.
  • Obtain RFQs from customers and convert them into business/PO documents.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design concepts to ensure they meet customer needs and company objectives.
  • Participate in tender/BQ processes for costing and submission, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Study RFI/RFP documents, coordinating bid activities that include preparing engineering standards, designs, and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, and selecting materials and equipment.
  • Utilize cost methodologies, tools, and software models to provide expert knowledge in cost analysis, manufacturing processes, material/supplier comparison, etc.
  • Work proactively towards cost target objectives and sourcing strategy in collaboration with Strategic Buyers, Category Managers, NPI Teams, and R&D.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for interacting with all internal and external stakeholders required for prototype development.
  • Listen to customers' needs and advise them on the best products to purchase.
  • Monitor order intake and budgeted forecast.
  • Assist customers with technical and commercial queries.
  • Support presales activities, proposal generation, product positioning, solution offerings, and responding to technical clarifications in tenders.
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CUSTOMERS.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech, M.Tech, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in new product development.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proven experience in cost estimation and cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills.
