Student Psychological Counselor Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Student Psychological Counselor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Psychology and experience working with students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students facing emotional, academic, or personal issues
  • Conduct workshops and group counseling sessions on stress management, exam anxiety, self-esteem, and other student-related issues
  • Offer immediate support and guidance in cases of crisis or emergency situations
  • Conduct psychological assessments and refer students to external mental health professionals if necessary
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines in counseling
  • Work closely with faculty, administration, and student support teams to create a supportive campus environment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Requirement: Masters degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in student counseling or adolescent psychology is preferred
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
    • Knowledge of adolescent and young adult mental health issues
