Backend Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Developer to design, build and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs. This role demands strong coding expertise, system design skills and experience in building high-performance backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design scalable, secure and high-performance backend services and APIs.
  • Implement server-side logic, databases and data storage solutions.
  • Optimize database schemas, queries and indexes for efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks; implement caching and load balancing.
  • Ensure backend security against common threats (SQL injection, XSS, etc.).
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps and product teams.
  • Mentor junior developers and ensure coding best practices.
  • Develop and run unit, integration and performance tests.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues and maintain uptime reliability.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Go or Rust.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL API design.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of Git, version control and branching strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Memcached.
  • Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform / Ansible.
  • Exposure to frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Go Micro.
