Backend Software Engineer Opportunity

MarsDevs offers a challenging role for experienced backend software engineers. This position involves designing and developing scalable services using FastAPI and Django, building and deploying microservices from scratch to ensure reliability and performance.

Responsibilities include deciding and implementing the right storage solutions, optimizing server performance with low latency and high throughput in mind, and implementing monitoring and logging strategies with industry-standard tools.

This opportunity requires 3+ years of professional backend development experience with FastAPI and Django, proven experience building and scaling microservices architecture, strong knowledge of asynchronous programming and Python internals, and deep understanding of database design including relational vs. non-relational DBs.

Requirements also include hands-on experience in server optimization, performance tuning, and profiling, familiarity with monitoring and debugging tools, excellent communication skills, ability to work in a collaborative team environment, and willingness to occasionally contribute to frontend development.

Nice to Have Requirements

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container tools, exposure to cloud platforms, and contributions to open-source or side projects showcasing backend expertise are all desirable skills for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable services using FastAPI and Django

  • Ensure clean maintainable and test-driven code with proper documentation
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional backend development experience with FastAPI and Django
  • Proven experience building and scaling microservices architecture
  • Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming and Python internals
  • Deep understanding of database design including relational vs. non-relational DBs
  • Hands-on experience in server optimization performance tuning and profiling
  • Familiarity with monitoring and debugging tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to occasionally contribute to frontend development
  • Must be a power user of AI code helpers like Cursor/Claude Code
  • Willings to learn building RAG and AI Agentic Solutions
