Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team. This is a high-impact role requiring technical expertise, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach.

  • Take ownership of existing backend projects and drive them forward with minimal ramp-up time.

Team Collaboration & Code Quality

  • Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing code reviews, feedback, and technical leadership.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design principles, and software engineering best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, clean code, and ownership.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and provide growth opportunities to the team.

Backend Development & Architecture

  • Design and develop scalable, maintainable backend solutions using Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
  • Architect and work with monolithic and microservices architectures, with experience in de-coupled and domain-driven design.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization solutions.
  • Improve system performance, scalability, and observability.

Collaboration & Process

  • Collaborate with the product team to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
  • Drive sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives with agile methodologies.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

">
  • 8+ years in backend development with strong experience in Node.js, Express, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proficient in database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Proven experience with API design (REST & GraphQL) and secure authentication systems.
  • Strong understanding of clean code principles and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Experience with architectural patterns and proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, Docker, and deployment workflows.
