Role Overview

As a skilled Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using Ruby on Rails. Your primary focus will be on the development of server-side logic, database integration, and API connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement robust backend systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve overall code quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming
  • Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas
  • Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations
  • Proficient in deploying and optimizing Passenger and Thin
  • Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, and memory profiling
  • PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, and Rubygems
  • Gem building and custom gem publishing
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, and chruby
