Backend Migration Expert

The Challenge:

Our organization seeks a seasoned backend engineer to spearhead the migration of core functionality from our legacy .NET monolith to a modern, event-driven architecture using Java Spring Boot microservices.

Your primary responsibility will be to deconstruct and re-implement legacy code that handles crucial integrations with our platform as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native services.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and has expertise in leveraging AI-powered tools and large language models to accelerate development tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design & Develop: Architect high-performance, scalable microservices utilizing Java Spring Boot.
  • Legacy Code Migration: Analyze existing .NET code integrating with our loan servicing platform, understand its business logic, and migrate it to the new Java stack.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission legacy message brokers and implement modern event-driven systems using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Build and deploy services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using services like Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
  • Code Quality & Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, emphasizing enterprise-level systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with .NET (C#), including the ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design patterns.
