Job Title: Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

The role of a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist is to ensure the security and integrity of digital assets from unauthorized access, identifying potential threats and reporting them to stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security events from various channels (SIEM, Tickets, Email, and Phone), assessing severity and suspicious activities, escalating to appropriate teams for further investigation and resolution.
  • Work proactively to identify weaknesses and stealthy attackers, review vulnerability assessments (CVEs) on monitored assets, and conduct deep dives into datasets to understand attack dynamics.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Analyze events and incidents to identify root causes, documenting findings and contributing to incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  • Stay up to date with emerging security threats, including applicable regulatory requirements, and contribute to security strategies as new threats emerge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a similar role or as an IT Security Monitoring specialist – experience with SIEM tools such as ELK and Wazuh is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and endpoint tracing.
  • Familiarity with system log information and its significance.
  • Knowledge of common network services, host-based firewalls, Anti-Malware, HIDS, and common network device functions.
  • General knowledge of desktop OS and server OS, TCP/IP, Internet Routing, UNIX/LINUX, and Windows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent event or log analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in IT Security Monitoring or similar roles.
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.
  • Very good communication abilities.
  • Experience with SIEM management tools such as ELK, Wazuh, Splunk, and ArcSight.
  • Reporting and documentation skills.
