Backend Software Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced software engineer with a strong background in Node.js and Nest.js to fill this critical role.

As a backend developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems that power our applications.

You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  1. Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Nest.js.
  2. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  3. Implement and maintain database schemas and queries (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  4. Develop and implement authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  5. Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  6. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  7. Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
  8. Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate backend services with frontend applications.
  9. Work with DevOps to deploy and maintain applications in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  10. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in backend development.
  11. Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our backend systems.
  12. Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js and Nest.js.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., JWT, OAuth).
  • Experience with unit and integration testing.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
