Solar Sales Team Lead Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented sales manager to lead our Solar Sales Team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, a deep understanding of the solar industry, and the ability to motivate and drive a high-performing team. This role is critical in expanding our market presence and achieving our ambitious sales targets across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of sales professionals to consistently achieve and surpass sales targets while fostering a collaborative, high-energy work environment that drives success.
  • Develop and execute dynamic sales strategies, plans, and processes that drive revenue growth and market expansion while ensuring sustained profitability.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with residential, commercial, and industrial clients by understanding their unique energy needs and delivering customized solar solutions that perfectly align with their requirements.
  • Collaborate with the technical and engineering teams to develop and present customized proposals and solutions that meet client requirements and showcase unique selling propositions.
  • Generate leads through diverse channels, including networking, referrals, cold calling, and industry events. Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closure, ensuring timely follow-ups, thorough documentation, and effective negotiation to secure successful outcomes.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with sales, business development, and marketing teams to ensure effective management of the process.
  • Track and review sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and useful insights to senior management. Make necessary adjustments and improvements to enhance performance when needed.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by staying abreast of industry developments, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the sales team's knowledge of solar products, industry trends, and sales techniques. Ensure continuous professional growth and skill development.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns promptly and effectively. Promote a customer-centric approach throughout the sales processes.
  • Collaboration with design, project management, and procurement teams is essential for project success. Foster a culture of teamwork by ensuring clear communication and alignment of sales needs across departments.
Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sales Manager or similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively present complex information.
  • Solid understanding of the solar industry, including residential, commercial, and industrial markets, as well as familiarity with solar technologies, products, and services.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience in building and leading high-performing sales and business development teams.
  • Willingness to travel within the state of Goa for on-site customer visits and presentations.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling solar power solutions and securing customer contracts.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales performance metrics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
