System Operations Expert

Overview of the Role:

The system operations expert will ensure the smooth operation of our systems and identify areas for improvement. This role requires technical expertise in observability systems, modern observability practices, and script development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain observability systems including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Dynatrace, or others
  • Develop and implement modern observability practices such as SRE, SLI/SLO, Synthetic, APM, RUM
  • Write efficient scripts in Python, Shell, PowerShell, and other languages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitLab Runner, Jenkins, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of observability systems, modern observability practices, and script development
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Able to communicate efficiently and effectively with stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of IT production backup and resilience setup (High Availability setup, Disaster Recovery Plan, etc.)
  • Understanding of key concepts of distributed systems
  • Basic knowledge of RedHat Linux administration and performance management
  • Notions of Ansible and Ansible Tower
  • Notions of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, OpenShift)
  • Experience with any cloud platform (preferably IBM Cloud)
