Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBA to join our expanding Information Technology team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance and performance monitoring.
  • Set up SQL Server replication, mirroring and high availability as required across hybrid environments.
  • Design and implement new installations on Azure, AWS and cloud hosting with no specific DB services.
  • Deploy and maintain on premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/ MySQL installation.
  • Ensure database security and protection against SQL injection, exploiting of intellectual property, etc.
  • Work with development teams to assist with data storage and query design/optimization where required.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Demonstrate expertise and add valuable input throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help design and implement scalable, lasting technology solutions.
  • Review current systems, suggesting updates as required.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document procedures to set up and maintain a highly available SQL Server database on Azure cloud, on premise and Hybrid environments.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Resolve reported issues and reply to queries in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on current best practices, trends, and industry developments.
  • Identify potential challenges and bottlenecks to address them proactively.
