We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling microservices with low-latency design and high-throughput for real-time hotel search and distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Microservices Development: Design and implement low-latency microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
- Data Modeling: Implement custom algorithms and data models to support pricing, availability, and inventory workflows.
- End-to-End Module Ownership: Own end-to-end modules from design to rollout and collaborate with product/architect teams.
- AI Integration: Use AI developer tools (Claude, Cursor) and LLMs via prompts, RAG, and agents to accelerate development.
- Code Review and CI/CD: Participate in rigorous code reviews and contribute to a CI/CD pipeline that supports frequent, reliable, and automated deployments.
Qualifications:
- Java Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
Required Skills:
- Distributed Systems: Strong experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB.
- Event-Driven Systems: Built distributed, event-driven systems using SQS, Kinesis; solid understanding of fault tolerance, backpressure, and scalability.
- Data Consistency Models: Familiarity with data consistency models, circuit breakers, internal DSLs, and low-latency API design.
- Monitoring Tools: Proficient with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch; have tuned systems for high throughput and sub-50ms latencies.
- Culture Fit: Comfortable working in a remote-first team with a culture of ownership, documentation, and async communication.
