Job Title: Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic professional to work one-on-one with a child in their home environment, providing personalized support tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging learning plans that foster functional communication, basic literacy, and language skills through structured activities
  • SUPPORT independence in daily living activities (ADLs), such as dressing, eating, and basic routines, promoting self-sufficiency and confidence
  • Conduct informal assessments to set measurable goals and track progress, ensuring continuous improvement and adjustment of strategies
  • Create adaptive, age-appropriate learning tools and methods that cater to the child's individual learning style and pace
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive session records, facilitating effective collaboration with parents and other professionals
  • Work collaboratively with parents and other therapists to provide holistic support, addressing the child's physical, emotional, and social development needs

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (RCI-registered preferred) or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities, demonstrating expertise in communication strategies and life skills training
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and theories, including cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting, exercising initiative and self-motivation
  • Respectful, non-judgmental, and family-focused approach, prioritizing the child's comfort and well-being
